How to choose the right one

1. Check Fuel Type

All TIKI models in this guide use wood burning fuel. You must gather and store dry firewood for operation. This fuel type provides a traditional flame and aroma but requires manual lighting. Unlike gas or electric units, you cannot adjust heat levels instantly. You need to manage ash buildup after each use. Ensure your patio allows open flames. Wood burning units often produce more smoke unless designed otherwise. Check the design features for smokeless technology to minimize nuisance smoke.

2. Evaluate Smokeless Design

Smokeless design uses secondary combustion to reduce visible smoke. The TIKI 25-Inch Smokeless Fire Pit features this technology for cleaner burning. This is ideal for patios near neighbors or windows. The system directs airflow to burn off smoke particles. You get a clearer view and less irritation. Not all wood pits have this feature. Verify the design specification before buying. Smokeless units may require specific wood sizes for best performance. This design choice significantly impacts your outdoor comfort level.

3. Assess Size and Space

Dimensions determine if the unit fits your patio. The TIKI 25-Inch model measures 24.8 inches wide. The TIKI Reunion 27.5-Inch model spans 27.5 inches. Larger units heat more area but need more floor space. Measure your available area before purchasing. Leave clearance around the unit for safety. Consider the height for seating comfort. The 25-Inch model is compact for smaller spaces. The Reunion model suits larger gatherings. Check width and length to ensure it fits your layout.

4. Review Weight and Portability

Weight affects how easily you can move the unit. The TIKI 25-Inch model weighs 45 pounds. The TIKI Reunion 27.5-Inch model weighs 60.7 pounds. Heavier units are more stable but harder to relocate. You might move the unit for storage or cleaning. Check the weight specification if you need portability. The Social model is noted for portable use. Lighter units may be easier to handle alone. Heavier units often offer better durability. Consider your strength and storage needs when choosing.

5. Confirm Protective Cover Inclusion

A protective cover shields the fire pit from weather. All listed TIKI models include this feature. The cover protects against rain, snow, and UV damage. This extends the life of the steel construction. You do not need to buy a separate cover. This saves money and ensures a perfect fit. Check the features list to confirm inclusion. Without a cover, you must store the unit indoors. The included cover adds convenience and value. It keeps ash and debris out when not in use.
