It is a straightforward appliance built for consistent warmth and visual appeal.
What stands out
- 50-inch width for wide coverage
- 24-inch height for vertical presence
- 12-inch depth for wall mounting
- Black finish for modern looks
Who it fits
Good fit for
This heater suits you if you have a large wall space and want a permanent heating source. The 50-inch width helps warm a broader area than smaller units. The 24-inch height makes it visible and effective for radiating heat. If you prefer a clean, wall-mounted look without floor clutter, this fits. It is ideal for living rooms or bedrooms where you want steady warmth and a decorative element. The fixed size means it is best for spaces that can accommodate its specific footprint.
Who should skip it
Skip this model if you need portable heat. The fixed 50-inch width and 24-inch height mean it stays in one place. You cannot move it between rooms. If your space is narrow, the 50-inch width might be too wide. The 12-inch depth is standard, but the overall size is large. If you want a compact unit for small areas, look elsewhere. This is for fixed installations, not flexible heating needs.
Verdict: The Dimplex X-DGR32WNG is a solid choice for those needing a wide, wall-mounted heater. Its large dimensions suit bigger rooms where fixed heat is preferred.
Key specs explained
Width: 50 inches
This width determines how wide the flame display appears on your wall. A 50-inch span covers a significant horizontal area, creating a focal point in larger living rooms or open-concept spaces. When shopping for patio heaters, compare this to smaller units. You need this width to ensure the visual impact matches the scale of your outdoor or indoor entertaining area.
Height: 24 inches
The vertical dimension sets the height of the firebox. At 24 inches, this unit sits at a comfortable viewing level without dominating the wall space. It provides enough vertical flame presence to feel realistic. Compare this height with standard electric fireplaces. You want a height that balances visibility with safety, ensuring it fits well above seating areas or furniture.
Length: 12 inches
This depth indicates how far the unit protrudes from the wall. At 12 inches, it has a substantial presence, requiring adequate clearance in front of it. This depth houses the heating elements and flame mechanism. When comparing patio heaters, check the depth to ensure it does not obstruct walkways. You need enough room for safe airflow and unobstructed movement.
Color: Black
The black finish provides a modern, sleek look that blends with most interior decor styles. It minimizes the visual distraction of the unit itself, letting the flame effect take center stage. Compare this color with white or stainless steel options. You choose black if you want a contemporary aesthetic that anchors the room. It hides dust better than lighter finishes.
Design and build details
According to the listing, the Dimplex X-DGR32WNG features a black finish. This color choice helps the unit blend into various interior decors without drawing excessive visual attention. The exterior is constructed to support its primary function as a wall-mounted electric fireplace heater. You should consider how this mounting style affects your wall space and installation requirements.
The physical dimensions are specific and substantial. The unit measures 50 inches in width, 24 inches in height, and 12 inches in length. This width creates a wide flame display area on your wall. The 24-inch height provides a vertical presence that anchors the space. The 12-inch depth means it sits relatively close to the wall, which is important for clearance considerations in narrow rooms or hallways.
These specifications define the footprint of the heater. You need to ensure your wall can accommodate a 50-inch wide object. The black finish may show dust more easily than lighter colors, so you might need to clean it more often. The listing does not mention weight, so you must verify the load-bearing capacity of your mounting surface before installation. The design prioritizes a sleek, modern look that integrates heat with visual ambiance.
Setup and everyday use
Setting up the Dimplex X-DGR32WNG involves securing a substantial unit to your wall. The listing specifies a width of 50 inches, a height of 24 inches, and a depth of 12 inches. These dimensions mean you need a clear wall space that can accommodate a wide, prominent fixture. The 12-inch depth suggests the unit protrudes noticeably from the wall, so you should ensure there is adequate clearance in front of it. You will likely need to verify that your wall structure can support the weight and size of this electric fireplace heater. Once installed, daily use centers on the visual and thermal output. The 50-inch width creates a broad flame display, which serves as a primary focal point in your room. You control the heat and ambiance through the unit’s built-in interface. The black finish remains static, requiring no daily maintenance beyond standard dusting. This model does not list remote control or smart home integration in its provided specifications. You operate it directly via the panel on the device. The electric nature means you plug it in and select your desired heat level. The wide span ensures the visual effect is consistent across a large area. This makes it suitable for open living spaces where you want the heater to double as a decorative centerpiece. The straightforward design implies minimal daily interaction beyond turning it on or off. You get immediate heat and a steady flame effect without complex setup routines, provided you have the necessary wall space for its 50 by 24 inch footprint.
