The height also allows for adequate clearance for the chimney effect to work efficiently.
Fuel Type: Wood-burning
This fireplace burns wood, requiring you to gather and store firewood. Wood burning provides a traditional aroma and visual appeal that gas units cannot match. The design supports consistent outdoor heating for your living space.
Before You Buy This Chiminea
You need a flat, non-combustible surface for this steel chiminea. The listing notes a 3.5-inch clearance from the ground to the bottom grate. This gap is critical for airflow and safety. You must keep the area around the unit clear of flammable materials. The included poker helps you manage the wood, but you should also have a separate fire extinguisher nearby. Because it is wood-burning, you need a steady supply of dry firewood. The built-in storage area holds logs, but it is limited. You may need an external rack for larger batches. Cleaning involves removing the ash pan regularly. The high-temperature paint finish requires occasional touch-ups if scratched. Compared to gas or electric options, this unit demands more active management. It suits those who enjoy the ritual of building a fire. It does not fit users seeking instant, hands-free warmth. You should weigh the effort against the ambiance it provides.
