Who it fits
Good fit for
This fireplace suits homeowners who want a durable, classic fire feature for their backyard or deck. The 45-inch height makes it a visible focal point, while the steel body ensures it lasts through the seasons. If you enjoy hosting friends for cool autumn evenings, the large firebox allows for longer, more mesmerizing fires. It is ideal for those who prefer traditional wood burning over gas or electric options and want a sturdy piece that requires no electricity.
Who should skip it
You should look at another option if you need a portable heater. Weighing 65.9 pounds, this unit is not designed for easy moving or frequent relocation. It also lacks any electronic controls or remote operation, relying entirely on manual wood management. Verdict: The Endless Summer 45" Steel Wood Fireplace is a sturdy, classic choice for permanent outdoor heating. It best fits those who value durability and traditional ambiance over portability and convenience.
Endless Summer 45 Key Specs
Material: Steel
The unit is built from heavy-duty steel, a material known for durability and heat retention in outdoor fireplaces. This construction ensures the structure withstands weather exposure and supports the weight of burning logs. When shopping, you should compare this to cast iron or aluminum options. Steel offers a balance of strength and manageable weight, making it a practical choice for patios where longevity and stability are priorities for your outdoor space.
Fuel Type: Wood
This fireplace requires wood as its fuel source, providing a classic ambiance and authentic scent. You will need to store and handle firewood, which adds a traditional element to your gatherings. Unlike gas or electric heaters that offer instant on-demand heat, wood burning requires preparation and maintenance. Consider this if you value the ritual of building a fire and want a nostalgic atmosphere for your backyard or deck gatherings with friends and family.
Dimensions: 24"D x 28"W x 45"H
The footprint measures 24 inches deep and 28 inches wide, with a height of 45 inches. This size creates a substantial presence without overwhelming small patios. The height allows for comfortable viewing while seated. When comparing patio heaters, note that this is a large unit. Ensure you have adequate clearance for safety and airflow. The compact width fits well in corners, while the height elevates the flame for better visibility across your seating area.
Weight: 65.9 pounds
At nearly 66 pounds, this unit is heavy enough to remain stable in wind but light enough for one person to move with effort. This weight contributes to its durability and heat retention. You should plan for a solid, level surface to support this load. Compare this to lighter metal heaters that may tip easily. The substantial weight ensures the fireplace stays put during use, providing a safe and steady focal point for your outdoor entertainment area.
Color: Black
The black finish provides a timeless look that complements various outdoor decor styles, from rustic to modern. This color choice helps the fireplace blend into evening shadows while highlighting the glow of the fire. When selecting a patio heater, consider how the color interacts with your existing furniture and flooring. Black is a versatile option that minimizes the appearance of soot or ash residue over time, maintaining a clean aesthetic with minimal upkeep for your outdoor space.
Endless Summer 45 Design and Build
The Endless Summer model WAF3014ES features a black steel finish with styling reminiscent of classic firehouses. Its outer dimensions measure 24 inches in length, 28 inches in width, and 45 inches in height. Classified as large, this freestanding unit requires a dedicated footprint on your patio, deck, or backyard area. As a wood-burning fireplace, the product listing specifies no control dials, electronic ignition, or remote features, meaning heat output depends entirely on the firewood you manage manually.
Weighing 65.9 pounds, the steel assembly provides enough heft to remain steady in position during use, yet you can still reposition it with two people when arranging your outdoor space. The heavy-duty steel construction fully supports the load of timber while keeping the wood fire safely elevated off the ground.
The interior layout centers on an ample firebox. According to the listing, this spacious design accommodates larger logs to deliver extended burn times between refueling sessions. The uniform black exterior provides a neutral finish that coordinates easily with most patio furniture. With its 28-inch width and 24-inch depth, you will need to plan your outdoor seating layout around its perimeter to maintain comfortable clearances around the fire.
Setup And Everyday Use Guide
You will need to assemble this unit before lighting it. The listing does not specify the exact number of parts or required tools, but you should expect to handle the heavy-duty steel components. The fireplace weighs 65.9 pounds, so you may want assistance when moving it into position. Its dimensions are 24 inches deep, 28 inches wide, and 45 inches tall. This footprint requires a stable, level surface on your patio or deck. Ensure the area is clear of flammable materials, as the steel exterior will become hot during operation.
This model burns wood. You must source dry, seasoned logs that fit within the firebox. The spacious interior allows for larger logs, which supports longer burn times. You should manage the fire by adding fuel as needed. The black finish helps the unit blend into outdoor settings, but you should clean it regularly to maintain its appearance. Ash removal is part of the routine maintenance. You will need to empty the ash pan or base after each use to keep the firebox clear.
The 45-inch height provides a substantial presence. It serves as a gathering point for cooler evenings. The steel construction retains heat, which helps warm the surrounding area. You should place seating within a safe distance to enjoy the warmth without risking burns. Always follow local fire codes and safety guidelines when using wood-burning appliances outdoors.
Before You Buy This Fireplace
Before you buy the Endless Summer 45, consider your outdoor space carefully. At 28 inches wide and 45 inches tall, this steel fireplace requires a stable, level surface. You must verify that your patio or deck can support its 65.9-pound weight without damage. Since it burns wood, you need a dedicated storage area for logs and ash. Check local fire codes to ensure open wood burning is permitted in your area. This unit suits those who prioritize ambiance and traditional heat over convenience. Unlike electric or propane options, it demands more active management and cleanup. You will need a spark guard to protect nearby furniture from embers. The black steel finish retains heat well but requires regular maintenance to prevent rust. Compare this model against gas or electric heaters if you want minimal upkeep. This choice fits buyers who enjoy the ritual of tending a fire and have the space for safe operation.
